If you're new to the world of digital photography or have just purchased a new mirrorless or DSLR, if you're confused and the camera manual is making things worse or if you just want to brush up on camera settings and techniques then this is ideal.
The beauty of photographing wildlife is that it is always changing and evolving, encountering the unexpected. In this environment the photographer must learn to work with these changing environmental conditions and behaviours, and the result cannot always be predicted.
This, adds to the excitement of this type of photography wild animals living in their natural habitat and place a frame around what I see to show others of the beauty we have all around us.
My one to one's is to show the individual the simple techniques I use which have improved my own photography and pass them on to you. I will show you how to approach your subject using my proven fieldcraft skills without causing any distress to the animal, in turn letting them relax around you and presenting you with the best opportunities to photograph their beauty, expressions and behaviour.
As a package it is designed to help you improve in all the aspects of being a wildlife photographer. These one to ones are designed for all skill levels and can be tailored to the individual needs of the wildlife photographer.
I will show you how to use natural light to add impact to an image, side lighting, back lighting which all add great drama to a photograph. I will go through the best settings, strong composition, depth of field, giving you a usable workflow that will work for you in the field.
The camera settings I will show you are the very same I use where I will give examples and clearly show this with my own camera. I will demonstrate the techniques I have employed to capture the many wonderful moments I have been lucky enought to witness in nature.
The day is designed to help you to employ some if not all of the things you will have learned, in turn this will improve your own photography. Whether you are just starting out.
My aim and promise to you to improve your photography while learning how to listen, and watch for the tell tale signs mother nature will show you.

What do I need to know?
As private tuition is tailored to your needs, your current knowledge isn't really a concern, we can get you up and running with confidence if you're a beginner, or help you with a specific area of your photography if you're further along your photographic journey.
What do I need?
A camera! Whilst the tuition is mainly aimed at digital cameras of all types (SLR, compact system, bridge or compacts), film users will also gain extra knowledge of their cameras.
A Tripod if you have one. Don't worry if you don't.
Memory Cards/Film/Spare Batteries. We'll be trying many different techniques and it would be a shame to feel limited by the number of exposures you could take. Do ensure all batteries are fully charged.
Any lenses/accessories you may have: you never know when you might need them.
Footwear and Clothing suitable for a walk outside, including wet weather gear (hopefully not required).
Age restrictions?
Children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by a designated, appropriate adult; this may be a family member, nanny or chaperone. If the appropriate adult is not receiving tuition no extra charge will be incurred.
